So, on my 10K around the block the other day, I was thinking about the many Buckeye marathons, and was wondering if anyone had run them all, perhaps in one year,or two years.
There is the big city marathons: Cincinnati's Flying Pig, Cleveland Marathon, Akron's Road Runner, Toledo Glass City,Columbus Marathon. Coming in 2012 is Canton's Inaugural Marathon, held June 18 2012.
Looking for a nice warm toasty marathon in January, in Ohio? Check out Ohio Northern University Polar Bear Indoor 1/2 and Full Marathon January 29 2012.
Or you can weather the outdoors and run around and around on a one circle mile, in February, for the "Last Chance for Boston" Marathon. For anyone who new to the running and marathon world, Boston did not used to close out in hours. In fact, Boston hardly ever filled up until right about race day, if that. So late in the season, less than two months out, you could try and get your qualifier here, and then fly off to Boston just a few months later.
So for you folks, wanting to join Marathon Maniacs, here's your Buckeye Plan for 2012:
